REC Solar is our operating division producing downstream solar products. It is a fast-growing manufacturer of solar cells and solar modules. REC Solar started production in 2003, and has within a few years established a position among the 20 leading solar cell and module production companies in the world, and is a leading player in Europe.

REC Solar operates a cell production plant in Narvik, Norway (REC ScanCell) and a module production plant in Glava, Sweden (REC ScanModule). These facilities have a capacity of 250 MW of cells and 150 MW of modules. The combined wafer, cell and module plant under construction in Singapore will bring our total capacity to 780 MW of cells and 740 MW of modules.
Process efficiency and an increased focus on end-user needs are the most significant challenges in the downstream segment of the solar industry. REC Solar builds on the upstream scale and industry expertise of the REC Group, with a focus on lean manufacturing in highly automated plants in order to realize cost reduction. Marketing initiatives that make solar an easier choice for end-users and a targeted involvement in system and project development are growing areas of focus for REC Solar.
